After the 3hr ride southwards from Porto we arrived at Lisboa but was still feeling unsettled as we haven’t found accommodations yet … we arrived pretty late in the evening so we only had a few hours to find a place to sleep before sunset (thank you long summer daylight!).

Leaving Porto's Campanha Station and arriving at Lisbon's Entrecampos Station

- Taking the metro in Lisbon
We chanced upon a hostel and enquired about vacancies but they said they were fully booked so we continued searching elsewhere but things looked pretty bleak and we needed help. We went back to the same hostel and asked the receptionist if he knew of any other hostels that might have availability. He went off and came back with a guy who said he had accommodations for us (for a nominal fee). He had booked a 2 bedroom apartment on a wrong date as he thought his girlfriend was due to arrive in Lisboa today, but in fact was due the next day! We took up his offer and he brought us to the apartment to put our stuff. We were so lucky!

As the apartment is only available for 1 night, we asked if the hostel had beds available for the next 2 nights, luckily they had vacancies and we managed to secure our lodging for our stay in Lisbon. Whew……

Street taken from the view of our hostel

So far, among all the dorm hostels that we have stayed, this hostel gave us the best security and a peace of mind.

Decided to come to this place by the Rossio train station to try the portuguese food as the price looked reasonable but this place is always crowded
