The next morning, we took a train to the city of Avignon and were greeted with a slight shower, which would become worse as the day wore on. i believe if on a sunny weather, the city wouldn’t appear dull and grey and would appear more captivating then seen on our pictures.

The main entrance to the city

The Palace of the Popes

To the left of the Palace is the Avignon Cathedral where its most prominent feature is the gilded statue of the Virgin Mary

View of the Rhône River and the Pont d'Avignon from the Palace

The Pont d'Avignon taken from a different view
After a quick lunch, we continued our way to France 2nd most populous city behind Paris, Marseille.
